After being teased with announcements, Atlus finally explained on the mysterious Persona 5 The Royal during the first day of the Persona Super Live 2019 concert. Persona 5 The Royal is an updated version of the game featuring a lot of new content. Because of this, it is pretty similar to Persona 4 Golden.
New Phantom Thief – Kasumi Yoshizawa
There were many fans who believed that the mysterious girl in the last teaser trailer was a female version of Joker. However, it turns out that the girl is a new member of the Phantom Thieves named Kasumi Yoshizawa.
Kasumi is a transfer student who doesn’t enter school until the spring, which means that she might not be involved in the story until late in the game. The Persona 5 The Royal website lists her as being a skilled gymnast and she is shown fighting with a longsword.
Spring Is Coming!
In Persona 5, the main character is indisposed for several months throughout spring for reasons we won’t go into because of spoiler. It seems that the story will be different in Persona 5 The Royal and an entirely new section of the game will be added, which will flesh out the spring/third semester that wasn’t experienced in the original.

A New Confidant
A new Confidant named Takuto Maruki will also be added to the game and will appear after the events of the first dungeon. Maruki is a school counselor who is brought in to help the students who suffered under Kamoshida’s mistreatment.
New Areas & Events
Persona 5: The Royal will feature new areas and dungeons, as well as flesh out the original dungeons with new content. The Phantom Thieves will also gain new powers. For example, Futaba will gain the ability to intervene during fights and Makoto will learn an attack similar to Kenshiro from Fist of the North Star.
Persona 5: The Royal will also be including some kind of co-op feature, as well as improvements for those playing the game on PlayStation 4 Pro.

Morgana’s Transformation?
It seems that one of the lingering questions of Persona 5 will be answered, as a human form of Morgana was shown in the trailer.
The Persona Super Live 2019 concert will continue tomorrow with an announcement for the mysterious Persona 5 S.
Persona 5 The Royal is due to be released on October 31, 2019 in Japan and sometime in 2020 in the rest of the world.
